eLaw® Chosen as Best Docketing and Calendaring Software
in 2015’s New York Law Journal Reader Rankings

For fifth consecutive year, New York legal community names eLaw No. 1

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – September 17, 2015 – eLaw, the leading Web-based platform that provides critical and up-to-date court-related case information, was recognized for the fifth consecutive year as the Best Docketing and Calendaring Software in the sixth annual New York Law Journal (NYLJ) Reader Rankings survey. eLaw was chosen as the winner from 15 other contenders and open write-ins for New York state.

Published since 2010, the New York Law Journal Reader Rankings is not a scientific study or an editorial analysis but rather it is a democratic process; the program is run by the NYLJ sales and marketing teams at ALM. In 2015, more than 8,400 legal professionals cast their votes in an online survey composed of 100-plus categories, encompassing the areas of Technology, Research, Accounting, Insurance, Financial Services, Litigation Support, Real Estate, Education, Recruiting & Staffing as well as Lifestyle and Client Entertainment. In total, over 500 firms were listed on the official online ballot, and voters were also given the option of writing in any firms not seen listed; approximately 300 firms received votes via the write-in option. Only legitimate end users (attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, etc.) were allowed to vote.

eLaw® Introduces Do-It-Yourself Management Reports

9/9/2015

New feature helps eLaw subscribers track ever-changing court deadlines and schedules

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – September 9, 2015 – eLaw, the leading Web-based platform that provides critical and up-to-date court-related case information, announces today the introduction of do-it-yourself Management Reports covering all 62 New York Supreme Courts and five City Civil Courts. Because court rules and litigation schedules are constantly changing, the new Management Reports were developed to provide customized information to help subscribers keep track of outstanding motions, court deadlines and appearance schedules.

The Management Reports allow paid eLaw subscribers to get high-level and detailed views, such as outstanding motions that include their history. With future appearance reports, subscribers can view all of their appearances for any date range they select. Management Reports also feature the courts’ standard and goals on each case, a list of all notified parties and how many times a case has appeared on a trial calendar. All of the reports have the option of exporting the information in either a Microsoft® Excel® or PDF format. All customized reports can be saved as a template and run at any time in the future.

The Management Reports can be refined by case name, file or matter number, county, appearance date, judge, part/room, motion relief sought, comments, motion status, request for judicial intervention (RJI) date, note of issue (NOI) date and much more. Subscribers also can sort the results in ascending or descending order.

The Management Reports fall into six main categories:

  • My Future Supreme Appearance Calendar
  • My eWatch cases/Standard & Goals
  • My Supreme eWatch cases/Notify Parties
  • Supreme Pending Motion History
  • My Future Civil Appearance Calendar
  • My Civil eWatch cases/Notify Parties
